It’s been a long time since I’ve let two weeks pass between blog posts – yikes! I haven’t been extremely busy, but I was hired for a new fulltime job (because photography, unfortunately, is not my primary income!) I was unemployed for exactly three months, and I wasn’t very inspired to do much during that time! The photos from the Carriage Trade jewellery shoot are finished… see a new batch below. And finally, I shot my first wedding of 2010 over the weekend (chilly-chilly-brr-brr!), so there will be teaser photos coming soon from that celebration :) Thanks for the photo Krista!
I captured Krista & Greg’s engagement photos in May, and they used the mat of this frame as their guestbook at their wedding reception! This seems to be the trend right now, and I really wish we’d done that for our wedding! :)
This was the first wedding shoot I was hired to do (already almost two years ago!) I was really excited the photos turned out as well as they did, considering how brand new to this I was! Very unique and so simple – I love their style. It was a Tuesday afternoon in May, the bride wore red, and we strolled through Victoria Park for the photos. I really shouldn’t count this as my first wedding since all I was required to do was shoot portraits in the park. I didn’t cover the ceremony or much of the reception (by request of the couple). That afternoon I had quickly stopped in at Henry’s to purchase a new lens for portrait photography: the Canon f/1.8 50mm lens. This lens is amazing! I really have to thank the lens for producing the fantastic images. Mass & Maia were great to work with; Back at the beginning of July, my friends Krista & Greg exchanged their eternal vows on what was probably the best weekend in July! The feet should never be forgotten… Reception hall table… so beautifully lit by candles and “Christmas lights”! What an energetic family! Energetic, beautiful and hilarious! It was so much fun getting together with Lisa & Tony & family on sunny July 5th. Quick note: I first met Lisa when she started working at the same firm I’m at. After we connected on Facebook, it was then we realized that through marriage, we are somewhat related! My husband’s uncle is also Lisa’s uncle. What a small world! We staked out an area in St Jacobs behind the Ice Cream caboose. The sun was SO bright and I was thankful to find a giant tree providing us with some shade to capture some great images. And for a super hot and bright morning, this family was so pleasant to work with. Thanks guys! Oh and how could I forget the best part? This gorgeous couple & family will be off to Cuba in about a week to tie the knot! I’m so jealous and wish I could be there. I hope the weather is fantastic! |
