Clouds.

I’m starting a new series of clouds. Here is the first entry, taken on April 27/10.
I call these “The Simpsons” clouds.

Megan & Brad: Expecting

Big brother-to-be stands with mom & dad. There’s no hiding the excitement here!

Remember Spring?

It was here for a few days, then it turned cold again.
Wait for it… the warm air will return, and with it will be flowers of many colours, happier people in the public, and more photo opportunities – of course.

This weekend I hope to get out with a few photography friends. I expect the weather to be great!

Burlington Beach, Ontario – Summer 2009

A Little Something Refreshing

We’re a little more than halfway through winter. I thought images of seashells and sand (from St Pete’s Beach in Florida ‘96) would be a little encouraging!

Carriage Trade Custom Jewellery

Last week I was contacted by Randall Verrall of Carriage Trade Custom Jewellery. She also happens to be a close friend of mine who designs and creates classy jewellery for any occasion. Each piece is crafted with amazing detail and exceptional care. She gave me the opportunity to expand my portfolio by capturing these images. We had a great time!

Thank you to the models who were so patient with the numerous outfit changes and ordering around! You girls were fantastic to work with :)

And a huge thanks to Melanie & Andy for providing us with a gorgeous place to photograph in! They are the generous and courteous owners of London House Bed & Breakfast, located in Guelph, Ontario.

Carriage Trade will be appearing on The Wedding Ring (Kitchener-Waterloo) – watch for it!

Cemetery Photowalk - Waterloo, ON

A mid-morning photowalk with a couple Flickr/Twitter friends. We met up at an old church cemetery in North Waterloo. It was cold, like -15 degrees Celsius. I was only out shooting for half an hour when my toes starting going numb in my boots. Crazy! The other guys were there for an hour and by 9am, we decided to book it to Tim Hortons.

The oldest headstone I saw was from the 1700s. Just amazing to see them still standing in this yard, somewhat legible. I definitely want to go back in the summer for a green grass contrast.

I processed my photos with a cold tone and black & white; I think it suits the theme of these images.

Happy New Decade!

Hard to believe we’ve already started a new year and a new decade… man oh man.

I decided to capture a self portrait today… this pretty much sums up how I’m feeling these days: Happy.

Help-Portrait Event!

Oh baby oh baby!

I just discovered this awesome movement in regards to photography – it’s called Help-Portrait. The rules are simple:

1. Find someone in need
2. Take their portrait
3. Print their portrait
4. Deliver the print

I’m all over this! I just joined the Kitchener-Waterloo group and even though the event is supposed to happen this weekend – I really hope I can still be a part of it.

Photos on Display

For the month of December, two of my prints will be on display at the Kitchener Public Library. Exciting!

There will be other photos set up as well, from members of the Grand River Imaging and Photographic Society.

I only had my cellphone camera with me to get this shot before they went up on the wall. :)
