I had the incredible opportunity to capture the ever-emotional Olympic Torch Relay in Stratford, Ontario, on Day 59 (December 27, 2009). My friend’s step-mom, Cathy Dyson, was the first runner.
Thank you so much, Dyson family, for inviting me to be a part of this amazing day for you! It was a real blessing to be that close to witness a little bit of history!
Just a quick update that I’ve created a nicer looking portfolio gallery over at Zenfolio.com!
There you can view larger images, leave comments, add your favourites to a collection, and (eventually!) place print orders as well as photos for albums and other products. How exciting!

The first meeting for the ‘09-’10 season will be on Monday, September 14th. (I will be there!)
All talent, all camera types – if you love photography, come on out. This really is a great bunch of people! Speakers, contests and outings are just a sample of what comes with your membership :)
The team regularly organizes photowalks and other opportunities in the community to get out and shoot with other photographers. Last year, we visited the Kitchener Fire Department and Sherman Falls in Dundas. And that was just TWO of the many outings!
If you have any questions about photography, this is definitely one place you can bring them.
While on a Sunday afternoon geocaching roadtrip down to Burlington, I captured these images. It was a gorgeous, beautiful, perfect summer day!
I recently placed an order to have them printed as 16″x20″ for display in my home. They are going to look fantastic in the frames I purchased months ago!

Just a reminder that all my photos are available for purchase. Decorate your home or give them as gifts! Framing is also available. Prints can be made as high as 16×20 or 20×24. Click here to place an order, or contact me directly through my website, http://www.waterstonephoto.com
Two years ago I discovered JPG and signed up as a member. This year, I finally subscribed to the magazine, and I’m very glad I did! It’s a magazine filled with images and photographs taken by people like you and me, all around the globe. At this time, no Canadian stores sell the magazine. You’ll have to get a subscription like me (and be guaranteed to not miss one of the six issues per year!)
On the website you can upload images and enter them into the various themes for voting. If you’ve gotten enough votes, JPG may publish your photo! With that, they’ll send you $100 and a year subscription. Awesome!
I finally uploaded a few images, and I’ve got one up for votes in for the “Zen” theme. (The box in the top corner of this blog is also a link to the voting page).
Are there any other users who are JPG members? Let’s connect! Have you entered any images to the themes? Have you been published? Tell me about it!
It’s a great way to gain exposure for your images – don’t keep those beautiful photos locked away on your computer – get them out there into the light! And perhaps, an issue of JPG!

Last weekend we camped up at Lake Belwood. The Friday evening sunset was something of absolute beauty, and I was thankful to have purchased the 81A filter just in time.
This shot I’m especially proud of…
On another note, I’m thinking about store ideas. As you can see on the right hand side I’ve got one photo up on Etsy for sale. Do many of you use Etsy or shop there? I love the fact that Etsy is a handmade store… somewhere to support other crafters and artists.
If I decide to stay with Etsy then you’ll see more photos show up on the widget. If not, I’ll create my own little store with PayPal through the waterstonephoto.com website for sure.
Hello everyone! I officially launched the Waterstone Photography website (new & improved!) on July 15th. So far I’ve heard great reviews… thanks everyone!
So far this year has been busier than I originally thought – however, the majority of my work has only come within a month or a matter of weeks. It’s been great. I actually enjoy doing last minute work :-)
I just wrapped up wedding #4 this past Saturday and I’m hoping to get those photos up on the website soon. But as always, it’s my own personal guideline to not publicly share my client’s photos before they get to see them first. I know I would want that for myself!
